Serve at Cascades this Summer!

Spring S.A.L.T. Service Retreat

The first annual Spring SALT Service Retreat is coming up quick! SALTs from 2008 and 2009 are welcome to join us Saturday, April 24th (10am) through Sunday, April 25th (4pm) for a great weekend of activities, service, fellowship, and fun. OH-and we’ve also got some great surprises lined up for this event! While at Cascades SALTs will have the opportunity to try out the Rubicon Northwest Off-Road Challenge, conquer the Climbing Tower, go on a trail ride, play a round of paintball (additional fee), go boating, participate in service projects around camp, grow in their faith, worship together, and spend time with friends new and old!

As if that wasn’t cool enough - for the FIRST TIME EVER you can bring friends who are NOT SALTs to this event and share your amazing SALTiness with people who've never been to Cascades before. (Friends must currently be in 10-12th grades)

About the S.A.L.T. Program:

If you've loved Cascades as a camper and are looking to serve this summer, get a taste of life on the other side of camp by applying to be a S.A.L.T.!

The Servant And Leadership Training program is 1 to 4 weeks of intense, hands-on discipleship modeled after Jesus' servant-leader example.

What You'll Experience:

You'll experience life behind-the-scenes at Cascades, growing through challenging and in-depth Bible Studies, learning skills geared towards how to serve in your focus area as well as all around camp, understanding how to mentor and interact with younger campers, and creating friendships with others your age that will last a lifetime!

NEW!!! Week-Long S.A.L.T. Experience (10th-12th grades)

The all new week-long S.A.L.T. Experience is perfect for either someone who is new to Cascades or if you've already been a S.A.L.T. At just a week long it fits perfectly into your schedule but still offers the growth and opportunity for service you’d find in one of the longer S.A.L.T. session. Jump in and out of programs and projects as you see what it’s like to make camp happen while also getting the chance to spend time digging into God’s word away from everything that makes life at home feel so busy.

S.A.L.T. Crew (10th-12th grades)

A perfect intro into extended Servant And Leadership Training, come to S.A.L.T. Crew and spend two weeks growing closer to God, making new friends, and experiencing all that camp has to offer! S.A.L.T. Crew is the perfect balance of discipleship and service. S.A.L.T. Crew participants are given a great sampling of Cascades behind-the-scenes and get the chance to experience all areas of camp! S.A.L.T. Crew members gain valuable insight and understanding into what it takes to make camp happen, while simultaneously maturing in their walk with Christ and learning to follow His example of service and leadership!

Brightwood/Ranch S.A.L.T. (11th-12th grade)

Spend time at Brightwood Station or Sunrise Ranch as a part of the S.A.L.T. program and be prepared for the best two weeks of your life! Through 2 full weeks of intense discipleship training, campers in the Brightwood and Ranch S.A.L.T. programs spend a week in Service And Leadership Training and then get the opportunity to dive in and use what they've learned. The second week of their stay is spent in cabins, helping to create that safe, exciting, and Christ-centered environment that all campers love! Come to Cascades for the Brightwood Station or Sunrise Ranch SALT programs and let God mold and shape you as you serve and lead!

Seasoned S.A.L.T. (12th grade)

After experiencing the Brightwood or Ranch S.A.L.T. program, apply to be a Seasoned S.A.L.T. for a new opportunity to serve at Cascades. In the 4 weeks Seasoned S.A.L.T.s are at Cascades, they spend time in cabins with campers, help run camp programs, serve behind the scenes, and tons more! The most life-changing aspect of the Seasoned S.A.L.T. experience is the way in which they are encouraged to examine their faith and take it to the next level, seeking to put Christ first in all they do as they serve and lead others!

*Must have completed Brightwood SALT/Ranch SALT prior to application for Seasoned SALT program.

For Seasoned SALT, Brightwood/Ranch SALT,SALT Crew, and SALT Experience Applicants follow these steps to apply:

1. Choose which session you'd like to attend
2. Register online, or send in a registration form with your $50 deposit
3. Download (see below) and fill out the application and mail it back to Cascades (22825 Peissner Rd. SE Yelm, WA 98597)
4. Hand out the reference form and have your reference mail it to Cascades (not applicable to SALT Experience)
5. Wait for your confirmation letter
6. Come to camp and have your BEST SUMMER EVER!
