What will my child experience at Cascades Camp?
Your child's camp experience is very important to us! Fun activities include archery, sports, crafts, swimming, canoeing, riding horses, outdoor living skills, lively songs, crazy skits and exciting games. Young bodies are strengthened with exercise and healthy food that kids love! In Bible study and in evening chapel or campfire sessions, staff share their Christian faith and invite spiritual growth and renewal. Campers discover God's creation, grow in confidence, independence, and form new friendships which last well beyond the week of camp. Motivated students, better athletes, and caring citizens are common results!
Who will my child be with at Cascades Camp?
Your child's safety and well-being are the highest priority at the Cascades. All camp activities are conducted by carefully screened and trained Christian college-aged staff including certified lifeguards, Certified Horsemanship Association trained wranglers, and supervised by a registered nurse.
In a friendly and caring manner, counselors encourage kids to discuss spiritual issues honestly and to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. All of the staff model strong Christian values and standards. With genuine friendliness and caring, they exhibit lives of infectious enthusiasm!
Children from all churches or with no church affiliation are welcome at the Cascades. Resgistration is open to all regardless of race, color, or national origin. Each camper may choose one friend to be their cabinmate, or will meet a new one in their cabin group of 8 kids.
How do we prepare for camp?
You will be sent a confirmation letter with a list of things to pack and arrival instructions. If your first choice of camp is full, you will automatically be placed in your 2nd choice. (Upon request, you may be placed on a waiting list) The balance of the camp fee is due at least two weeks before arrival. It is our desire that no child miss out on a camping experience due to financial need. Confidential sponsorship is available through most churches, or through Cascades.
Check-in is very speedy! Summer Camps begin at 4:00 p.m. and end at 9:30 a.m. Prior to arrival, all is ready to receive your child; cabin groups are built and health and emergency information is passed onto the health and supervisory staff. Cascades provides campers secondary accident insurance (subject to the policy limits) where your personal insurance leaves off. Counselors and program staff have non-stop fun planned! Pray with us in preparation for this week which could prove to be a pivotal experience in your child's life!
