Grow in Faith, Leadership, Wisdom and MaturityThe ministry of Cascades depends on the sincere faith, honest leadership, humble wisdom and patient maturity of those who work together to “make camp happen.” Interns also spend time in group devotional time and Bible study with other interns and staff members. As a part of the Cascades internship program, we expect that interns work with their supervisors and fellow interns to grow their own skills. Supervisors will also provide insight into where there is room for growth as well as where interns exceed in these areas. Interns will be given opportunities to exercise these skills during their time at Cascades. Internship positions include:Food Services Intern: The kitchen intern works in tandem with the Food Services Manager to provide delicious and healthy meals to campers, guests, and staff members staying at Cascades Camp and Conference Center. The kitchen intern serves guests through the preparation and presentation of food, and will receive training in these areas. This work is vital in making Cascades a welcoming and restful place for groups to retreat at. Specific duties Include, but are not limited to:
Operations Intern: The Operations Intern works in tandem with the Operations Manager in facilities and equipment maintenance and grounds keeping at Cascades Camp and Conference Center. Ensuring the overall guest readiness of our facilities and grounds, and supporting the various programmatic needs of the camp, the Operations department serves Cascades in a very “behind the scenes” manner. This is vital work in fulfilling our mission and the Operations Intern is a huge player in this endeavor. The operations intern helps to provide a safe and beautiful place for guests to rest and retreat. Specific duties Include, but are not limited to:
Program Intern: The program intern works in tandem with the Program Director and works on planning, promoting and carrying out the programs at Cascades Camp & Conference Center. The program intern will participate and receive training in the areas of programming, leadership development and training, marketing, promotion and how to incorporating one’s faith into all aspects of life—in this case, the workplace. Specific duties Include, but are not limited to:
Ranch Intern: The Ranch Intern works in tandem with the Ranch Manager in care of horses, ranch grounds, tack, and guest ranch activities at Cascades Camp and Conference Center. This position allows guest groups and campers to experience God and his creation through riding horses. The ranch intern must come with some horse and riding experience.
