APPLICATIONS FOR SUMMER 2013 ARE NOW AVAILABLE. Cascades will hire approx. 70+ Summer Staff selected from many qualified applicants from across the country. The entire staff works together ministering to campers and guests. Within the four departments, staff work very closely as a team which is why job descriptions don’t list individual positions. Food Service, 11 positions. Campers and guests love our homemade bread, spring water, fresh cookies and eating around tables, family style. The whole kitchen crew works together to prepare, transport and serve food at satellite locations, as well as man the espresso stand, gift store, and canteen. With your time off in the afternoons and evenings you have the opportunity to be a staff buddy to a cabin full of campers. Operations Team, 11 positions. Cascades is known for the service this dynamic team provides: keeping the camp clean and running smoothly. Together the “O-Team” cares for the beautiful facilities, indoors and out! In addition to custodial and maintenance duties, individuals take responsibility for hosting guests, lifeguarding, and operating the waterslide. When the work is done you have the option of being a staff buddy to a cabin of campers. Sunrise Ranch, 5 positions. Each week horse-crazy campers come ready to spend hours in the saddle! Ranch staff provide the safety, fun and teaching to 4th – 12th graders. Wranglers teach horsemanship, lead trailrides, care for horses, do barn chores and then spend their evenings with campers as cabin buddies. Counselor, 24 positions. Cascades has programs for children of all ages. As a counselor you would be given the opportunity to work at Camp Timber Rock (7th-9th grades), Brightwood Station (4-6th grades) and Rainier Kids Day Camp (1st-6th grades). The program is oriented around the counselors as they care for and supervise their eight campers throughout the day, leading them in activities and Bible Studies. Counselors also may rotate to another department for a week. Leadership positions in program, recreation, worship and the SALT program are available to returning staff. *Note: Counselors are not assigned to a specific location, but rather rotate and are given the opportunity to counsel at Brightwood, Timber Rock and Rainier Kids during their time at Cascades. Health Assistant, 1 position. Care for health needs of campers, providing general first aid, and helping out in other areas of the camp according to your specific gifts. (Priority is given to applicants who have completed at least one year of nursing specific courses through a college or university accredited nursing program or other similar experience in community health and safety.)
